MSU Gardens Senior Photos — A Nature‑Inspired Session With Katrina

I had the pleasure of meeting up with Katrina, a 2027 Portland St. Patrick graduate, to take some senior pictures at the MSU Horticulture Gardens. 

This was a completely new experience for her as she, like many high school seniors, had never had professional photos of just themselves taken before. I was more than happy to provide posing guidance and other instructions to make Katrina more comfortable and boost her confidence in front of the camera. She came to the session alone, which can be helpful in certain situations as some people feel pressured when family/friends are present.

Katrina wasn’t exactly sure where she wanted her pictures taken, and ultimately landed on the gardens at MSU after I described them to her, as she had never been there before. When we arrived, she was amazed at how gorgeous the scenery was and how many choices there were to capture some great pictures! There are plenty of different outdoor photography options like this one all over central Michigan, and I love when people get to showcase our state’s beauty in the background of their photos.
