A Look Inside Our Editing Process
The last thing you want is to look like someone else in your pictures. I know you just want to be the best you possible. That’s why I make sure our editing process maintains skin texture, skin tone, colors present in the image, and more to ensure you have a natural looking, timeless portrait!
This means your teeth won’t be a blinding shade of white, your eyes will remain their real color, and I won’t edit your photos with an Instagram filter. No fake tones or processes, just timeless portraits!
While editing styles are different depending on what photographer you hire, I can only speak on how I edit our client photos. Capturing the correct colors, exposure, pose and composition in camera allows me to use minimal editing steps to perfect the final image. Ultimately this results in an image that is the most true to you.
MY GOAL IS TO ENHANCE YOUR NATURAL BEAUTY - NOT CHANGE THE WAY YOU LOOK
HERE are the WAYS WE PRESERVE OUR CLIENT’S NATURAL FEATURES IN OUR EDITING PROCESS:
Natural skin texture: We won’t make you look like a plastic doll or remove elements that make you, you. We will remove blemishes, dry skin patches, rough skin texture, etc.
Natural features: We will not adjust natural features like your nose, cheekbones, lips, waist, etc because you don’t need any of that to showcase your beauty.
Natural colors: We will maintain true colors in our images including your skin tone, natural greens in the image’s surroundings, natural clothing colors, your natural hair color, etc.

I could probably share a hundred images from Summer’s senior picture session because she was just so good in front of the camera! She knew how to move and angle herself for the camera which made me take so many photos. She will have way too many to choose from which is going to be a tough job because they are all so amazing! I was so excited to hang out with Justin on the most gorgeous fall evening in Portland, Michigan. I have photographed some of his other brothers and sisters, so meeting him was definitely on my ‘to do’ list! Aaron chose the most beautiful fall day for his senior pictures! He is on the track and cross country teams at PW high school, so we met at the track to get our day started. It rained up until the very minute that Seth’s senior picture session was supposed to begin. Because the weather showed that it would clear up, we decided to still meet and get in the same spot so that if we had the opportunity to take photos, that is exactly what we would do. Luck was in our favor because the rain cleared and gave Seth and I the most gorgeous fall afternoon for his senior pictures. Although there was some wetness on the ground, it actually made for more vibrant fall colors immediately following the rain. Here are a few of my favorites from his session!

Alec | Lansing, Michigan Senior Pictures
I was able to meet up with Alec on a cloudy fall morning at Fenner Nature Center in Lansing, Michigan for his senior pictures. The lighting was just perfect and the crazy Michigan weather was working in our favor too! My favorite spot at Fenner is the meadows, they always photograph beautifully so if you are looking for that type of space, Fenner is definitely the way to go! Alec wasn’t too comfortable in front of the camera but I think he started to loosen up a bit and we got some great images for him to choose from. Here are a few of my favorites!

I met up with Makayla for her senior pictures on the most perfect September day! We met in Portland, Michigan because she wanted to make sure she got a lot of nature in her photos. After a bit of conversation, I found out that her family has access to private property next to the river in Portland. When there is access to gorgeous private property, I am more than happy to visit! I am glad this came up because Makayla got the most gorgeous senior photos at this location! Jackson | Grand Ledge, Michigan Senior Pictures
I met up with Jackson on the most perfect evening in Grand Ledge, Michigan. We had big plans to take some photos at Lincoln Brick Park as well as in the downtown area of Grand Ledge. Since we moved right along during his session, we were able to make all of it happen! In getting to know Jackson during his session, I am convinced that he is the coolest person I have ever met. He is so easy going, has a great sense of humor and has some great stories. I could hang out with him all the time! In between all of the fun, we got some amazing pictures and had a great time. Luke | Belding, Michigan Senior Pictures
Luke asked me to travel to Belding for his senior photos and I am so happy we did! He wanted some photos in his backyard which just happens to be situated on Long Lake. He then took me to ‘The Arches’ near Belding which is a nice little hidden area off a trail. We ended our session in downtown Belding. Luke got so many different options for his senior pictures and so many to choose from. Here are a few of my favorites!
